About Carly
Hello! I’m Carly, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who provides therapy to adolescents (ages 12+) and young adults. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions. Carly brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to her work and believes strongly in the power of therapy to help people reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful change.
I am particularly passionate about trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), which I use to support clients in processing past trauma while building practical tools for healing and growth. I also enjoy integrating elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, depending on each client’s goals and needs. My approach is rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and the belief that each person is the expert in their own life.
Before joining Duluth Counseling Center, I worked in both residential and community-based mental health settings, where I provided individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and supported complex care coordination for clients with serious and persistent mental illness. I am dedicated to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and motivated to grow.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and staying active. I have a passion for youth mentorship and have coached competitive cheerleading for 5+ years, and I bring that same spirit of encouragement, structure, and belief in potential into my therapy room.
