About Richie
Life can bring confusion, unexpected challenges, and moments when our usual coping strategies just aren’t enough. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or major life adjustments, I’m here to help you explore what’s holding you back and create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe successful therapy begins with connection. Building trust and genuine rapport creates the foundation for healing, and I strive to provide a calm, understanding, and approachable space where you feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we’ll challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build motivation, set achievable goals, and work through the barriers that interfere with the life you want to live.
I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed care. Every treatment plan is tailored to your unique strengths, values, and experiences.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Jose State University, my Master’s in School Counseling from St. Cloud State University, and completed my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) training through the University of Wisconsin. I have over eight years of experience working as a high school counselor in high-risk settings and as an Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services provider, supporting individuals through depression, anxiety, mood instability, relationship concerns, and life transitions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and our two daughters. I love hockey, snowboarding, golfing, fishing, playing guitar, and staying active—even if I can’t always say I enjoy exercising!
